About Philip

Lubitel, Zenith, Pentax, Yashica, Canon....yes I've had them all since my love affair with cameras began in the 1960's. I started taking photos when I was 13 years old and my first camera was a Lubitel, twin-lens camera from Russia. The format was the old 120 size and it was great, especially for portraits, landscape and still life. But soon I got itchy for an SLR and bought a Pentax Spotmatic...what a great camera. And since then I've moved pretty much to Canon, using the EOS5 as my main "machine". Recently I've gone fully digital with the 450D and I'm getting more accustomed to its amazing facilities. So, what makes a good or great picture? Well, the equipment helps. But the best equipment is still our eyes, our imagination and an instinct for seeing things differently. But enough of me. I hope my photos will do the talking. Enjoy. .
